Dec to Feb · 75 min

Winter facial

For cold, windy weeks and heated rooms.

The slowest facial on the menu. Cold air, wind and indoor heat leave skin feeling tight, and snow glare adds to a day on the slopes. We take more time at every step, with warm towels throughout.

Consultation first: you come to this facial after the consultation, or as part of the first visit. Results vary.

What happens

  • Warm towels for cleansing and at the end

  • A longer massage of the face and shoulders

  • A richer mask, chosen with you

  • A note of what to put on before you go back out

How the 75 minutes go

Paced, in order

  1. 01
    5 min

    Step 1: Settle in

Hang up your coat and sit down. We ask how your skin has been since the weather turned.

  2. 02
    10 min

Step 2: A look under the lamp

Your esthetician looks at your skin and tells you what she sees before she touches it.

  3. 03
    15 min

Step 3: Warm towels and cleansing

Cleansing with warm towels, slowly, so skin warms before anything else is added.

  4. 04
    15 min

    Step 4: A richer mask

A mask chosen with you, left on while she works on your hands and arms.

  5. 05
    20 min

    Step 5: The longer massage

Face, neck and shoulders, unhurried. Say if you'd like less or more pressure at any point.

  6. 06
    10 min

    Step 6: Finish and plan

What to put on before you go out in the cold, and when to come back.

Who does it

Gisel or Karissa

  • Gisel Hermosillo, an esthetician in a white smock over a black top, leaning on a studio counter beside a small tray and a plant

    Gisel Hermosillo

    Esthetician and owner

    • Esthetician license · AZ Lic. 000000

Gisel grew up in Flagstaff and opened Lavender for neighbors who spend their days on trails, slopes and job sites. She plans each facial around the season and writes a short note of how your skin was, so the next visit starts there. She is in Tuesday to Friday.

  • Karissa Gleason, an esthetician with an auburn bob in a grey cardigan, standing in a treatment-room doorway with a window and plants behind her

    Karissa Gleason

    Esthetician

    • Esthetician license · AZ Lic. 000000

Karissa came up from the Valley and works the same way: ask first, then slow down. Many of her clients are runners and cyclists, and she sees most of our shave-day facials. She is in Thursday to Saturday.
